Machine Element Arc Spray Wires

There is a lot of cross-over in arc spray wires; wires that are typically used for hard-surfacing can also be used in machine element applications.

A ground machine element coating means the “as sprayed” arc spray coating, once sprayed by the Thermal Spray Coating Machine, would then be either single-point tooled or wheel ground to meet the desired finished dimension.

Benefits of High Production Arc Spray

High production arc spraying saves time and money versus cladding or welding. Arc spray wires are dynamic, meaning they can be applied thick and quick, resulting in less time and labor expense. Arc spray only uses electricity and compressed air, which also reduces the cost to apply such coatings.

In addition to the efficiency and cost savings of high production arc spray, it is considered to be a cold process and therefore does not distort parts or affect the heat treatment of a component, and thus offers endless favorable coating solutions.
